Receive a pickup from the Puerto Chacabuco cruise terminal. Your pickup will be timed to your ship’s arrival. You’ll transfer from there to Puerto Aysén, the region’s second-largest city.
As you cross over the Aysén River, you’ll pass on top of the Presidente Ibañez Bridge, the longest suspension bridge in the whole country. Continue driving east through the rugged scenery of Chilean Patagonia, enjoy views of “La Virgen” waterfall and unspoiled pine forest along the banks of the Río Simpson.
Take a break in the Río Simpson National Reserve, where you’ll have time to check out the area’s museum and to learn more about its local plant and animal life. You’ll continue with an easy hike along the shores of Laguna Verde in Coyhaique National Reserve. Finish the day by enjoying picnic of traditional Patagonian food surrounded by the beautiful scenery of the nearby city of Coyhaique. At the end of the trip you’ll be returned to the cruise ship terminal.
