Meet a driver at your Santiago hotel for morning departure, then begin the 77-mile (125-km) trip to the seaside resort city of Concon. The first stop of the day are the Dunas de Concon, where the sand slopes right to the edge of the water, with gorgeous views across three coastal cities.
Head to Concon beach for a surf lesson that’s the perfect introduction to surfing in Chile. You’ll start with a warm-up and beach practice, then hit the water for an hour of catching waves with an expert instructor. The shared class is held in Spanish or English, depending on the day’s students, and if the class is held in Spanish, your guide will translate throughout the surf lesson.
Following the class, continue 8 miles (13 km) down the coast to Viña del Mar, where you’ll see the city’s Flower Clock and the as Viña del Mar Casino, the first casino built in Chile.
The afternoon is all about exploring the colorful city of Valparaiso, starting with a classic Chilean lunch (own expense) at a local restaurant. Tour the impressive Plaza Sotomayor and the Valparaiso port, then head to Paseo 21 Mayo, a bustling street through the Valparaiso hills, where handicraft shops have sweeping views across the city.
This full-day tour concludes with return transfer to your Santiago hotel.
