Cycling in the contiguous cities of Póvoa de Varzim and Vila do Conde, you can enjoy a walk by the sea and visit the 16th century Nau at the mouth of the river Ave. you can also choose a more rural path, such as the cycle path that connects Póvoa de Varzim to Famalicão by the old railway, now converted into a cycle path. It passes by the church of Rates where it crosses the central Camino de Santiago. If you choose the seaside promenade, you will be part of the Portuguese road to Santiago from the coast. So it will be a very busy day, because the cities are flat and easy to ride a bike, there is no need to be a prepared cyclist. It has many stopping points and interest such as monuments, museums that you can visit while resting from your ride.
