Reindeer & Husky Summer Combo

Your guide will drive you in a very small group to one of the most traditional reindeer farms in Lapland. The families of herders are based just outside of Rovaniemi on the lovely shores of a peaceful lake. From our perspective, they provide the best experience possible when it comes to both knowledge and service. They will show you around the farm and teach you about reindeer husbandry. As it is the first visit of the day, you will be given a chance to feed reindeer their favourite food! The visit will end with a very friendly time around the fire in the company of a herder who will answer all your questions.

After this great time with the reindeer, your guide will take you to the husky kennel to meet the excited dogs. The mushers will greet you at their farm, so will the barking of their lovely huskies. The mushers will take time to share their lifestyle, explain you what the job of a musher consists of, how they train their dogs and answer all your questions. All the dogs are very photo enthusiasts, so do not forget to bring your camera with you !

At the end of this combination activity, you will get back to Rovaniemi with a great insight of two very iconic arctic animals!

This Summer combo will offer you a great insight of reindeer and huskies, two iconic animals of the Arctic. Accompanied by a professional guide, you will first visit one of the most traditional reindeer farms in Southern Lapland, and then visit a small kennel which trains husky dogs.

In all our excursions, our groups are limited to 8 people maximum. It it very important for us to provide you with the best experience as possible, and avoid mass tourism. This way, your guide will know you better and will be able to address all your needs and answer your questions. We also strictly select our partners based on ethical and responsible principles, to promote a more authentic and respectful tourism in Lapland.
