- *St. Peter’s Basilica is an active church and can be closed unexpectedly for liturgical ceremonies. If closed, the time inside the Vatican Museums will be extended. On Wednesday mornings the Holy Father is having his weekly audience in Saint Peter’s Square and due to security, Saint Peter’s Basilica is closed. If you book an early morning tour on a Wednesday, we can therefore not guarantee access to the Basilica.

- Please be aware that the Sistine Chapel is a Holy Place and talking during your visit inside is strictly forbidden, therefore your guide will give you an explanation of the Sistine Chapel beforehand during your tour, in order to give you a comprehensive explanation before entering the chapel.
- Backpacks are not permitted in the Museum.

Fabulous Vatican Tour with Sara at LivTours
Our guide Sara was incredible - deeply knowledgeable, personable, funny, and had a real talent for navigating our group around the crowded spaces within the Vatican Museums without losing a beat. When she learned my father is an artist and architect, she tailored the tour to point out the incredible details of the various spaces we toured to meet his interests. Our tour with Sara was well-paced and gave us terrific insights. Even while we were standing in line for security she began to explain in detail the panels we were going to see of Michelangelo's work in the Sistine Chapel so that we had all the necessary context before entering.
