The transfer was comfortable and convenient. The tour at Herculaneum was fantastic. Susanna was great, very friendly and knowledgeable. 2 hours was just right.
Excellent 2-Hour Private Tour of Herculaneum with Archeologist
Askos Tours' 2-hour private walking tour of Herculaneum, with transfer from our hotel in Sorrento, was excellent, especially since we had also done a private Askos tour of Pompeii two days before. Both were such memorable experiences. For Herculaneum, our driver, Giuseppe, was excellent and navigated the traffic out of Sorrento expertly. At the end of our morning, we asked him for a restaurant suggestion in Sorrento, which turned out to be one of our favorites. Our tour guide in Herculaneum, Luca, was an archeologist and was excellent and so knowledgeable. He showed us lots of details and explained the differences between the volcanic eruption's effect on Herculaneum vs. Pompeii. He showed us what life would have been like in Herculaneum before the eruption. Two hours was sufficient, but I could have stayed longer just to soak in the history of this amazing place. I was so glad that we had seen both Herculaneum and Pompeii.
