Embark on an early morning drive from Barcelona to the Montserrat Monastery, located on a sacred mountain not far from the city. Visit the monastery and its museum to learn about the rich cultural heritage of Catalonia. There is the Black Madonna, kept inside the Royal Basilica.

The Monserrat Monastery is located 720 meters above sea level, that’s why seeing the sunrise is a unique experience to live. From the heights, you will get a great impression of this place, surrounded by impressive rocks and peculiar vegetation. Without a doubt, you will be admired!

From this point, you will have free time to decide what to do. You can choose to enter the monastery, learn about its history, and see the iconic Black Madonna inside. If you prefer to explore the amazing environment that surrounds the monastery, you can visit one of its viewpoints, or on the contrary, go on a hiking trail. We recommend the route through the Santa Cueva de Montserrat, a quiet and easy route, or if you prefer a shorter option, you can do the Els Degotalls Path, full of sculptures and poems.
