Private tour: the Cai Be Floating Market and Biking tour in Mekong Delta

From 8:00 – 18:00

8:00 Pick you up at the hotel in HCMC. Transfer to Cai Be in the Mekong delta. Visit a colorful Cao Dai temple in Cai Be with an interesting combination of 5 religions: Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, Catholicism, and Muslim.

11:00 Arrive in Cai Be, get on a boat and cruise on the Mighty Mekong River. Visit the Cai Be floating market which is a wholesale fruit market open daily from dawn till dark.

11:30 Walk along a small village where there are many workshops of making rice paper, coconut candies, pop rice, pop corn, fish sauce, soya sauce. You will learn a lot about the local cultures and ways of living through these visit and short walk.

12:30 Get back on the boat and cruise to Tan Phong island while having lunch on the boat with nice fresh local food of deep fried elephant ear fish, steamed river prawns, and more.

13:30 After lunch, enjoy a relaxing sampan row through small canals and fruit orchards.

14:00 Get back on the big boat and continue to visit another part of the island where you will start a very interesting bike tour through small village shady roads. Visit interesting farm houses, interact with local people and learn how to make more traditional products: rice paper, hammock of banana strings, house roof with water coconut leaves, handicrafts from water hyacinth.

16:00 Finish the bike ride and cruise back to the car. Transfer back to HCMC

18:00 Drop off at the hotel

Visit many workshops of making local products such as coconut candies, rice paper, pop rice, pop corn, rice wine to enrich your knowledge of traditions and cultures of the Mekong delta. Explore the exuberant Tan Phong island through small canals and fruit orchards by boat and bicycle with more interesting visits at local farm houses to interact with local farmers and see how they live. Enjoy delicious local food, tropical fruits while cruising on the Mighty river.
