Receive undivided attention and the expertise of a private guide who has insider knowledge of Taroko Gorge on this day trip from Taipei. After pickup from your city hotel in Taipei in the early morning, you’ll go to the Taipei Station and hop on 2-hour express train to Hualien, the east side of Taiwan.
On arrival in Hualien, you’re transferred to Taroko Gorge National Park, known for its sublime forested landscapes and sheer marble cliffs that tower above the Liwu River. Highlights here include a visit to the Eternal Spring Shrine, a cliffside memorial to the 226 workers who lost their lives in the construction of the central cross-island highway.
Next, enjoy an aboriginal-influenced lunch at Leader Village Taroko around noon. After lunch, go to Tienhsiang and stroll around the small village on foot with your guide, venturing along shaded walkways with views of Hsiangte Temple and its pagoda — situated on a hilltop and reached by a suspension bridge. Later set out on the Lushui Trail, an easy hiking path that includes spectacular views of Taroko Gorge and the Liwu River below. Your guide will accompany you at a mild pace, climbing uphill and crossing another suspension bridge to a lookout point.
When you’ve returned to your car, continue on to Chi Hsing Beach for a stroll. Finally, visit the Hualien Stone Sculptural Park and a marble factory before your guide returns you to Taipei by express train. Upon arrival in Taipei, you'll be transferred to your hotel in Taipei by private car before the tour is concluded.
