Private Tour of the Honey Island Swamp

Meet at the prearranged location on Slidell's West Pearl River, roughly 30 minutes prior to your chosen departure time. Board your 14-passenger US Coast Guard–approved boat, which is covered to provide shade from the Louisiana sun, and embark on an adventure through one of the wildest swamps in the United States. Throughout the cruise, you and your guide can expect the undivided attention of a professional wetland ecologist guide. As you go, make sure you let your guide know if you would like more time in certain areas of the swamp. Notice moss hanging from the gnarled cypress trees and the smell of azaleas as you cruise through the murky waters. Be on the lookout for creatures such as alligators, raccoons, owls, otters, and frogs. You might also be one of the few to spot the Honey Island Swamp Monster. Pass through a Cajun village where local fisherman are usually out and about. See them catching bluegill, sunfish, crawfish, largemouth bass, and other local fish. When the time comes, make your way back up the swamp. Your cruise concludes back at the original launch point.
