The tour of Montenegro is visually stunning. This is a country where mountains descend almost directly into the sea creating an almost surreal scene. As you are driven along the main coastal road through many small fisher villages, you’ll arrive to the town of Perast with its famous beautiful islet, called 'Gospa od Skrpjela' (Our Lady of Stone) and stop to enjoy the glorious view. Next on your list of pearls is Kotor, a UNESCO protected historic town well known for its rich history, nautical tradition and the famous merchant navy of Boka Kotorska. The tour can be extended with visit to the ancient town Budva, which today is a lively tourist resort. Before you reach Budva you will also stop along the coast to view legendary playground of the celebs - Sveti Stefan. This tiny island fortress of Sveti Stefan is Montenegro's most famous attraction which was transformed in the 1950’s into a fabled private resort for stars like Marilyn Monroe, Sophia Loren and European royalty. Today, joined by a narrow causeway to the main road, its 5-star hotels can be enjoyed by ordinary mortals. Lunch is optional at a local restaurant in Budva.

The tour will take you to Zupa Dubrovacka and the Konavle valley all the way up to the border with Montenegro. The border road winds its way through the towns of Risan and Perast to Kotor, giving you a first-hand experience with Montenegro’s three different landscapes - bay, mountain and sea. There are very few places to compare with natural beauty of the Bay of Kotor, which is actually a fjord, often compared to the ones in Norway. The city itself is still surrounded by the well preserved medieval wall. You will have some free time to explore Kotor. The city’s historical museum is well worth a visit, or just enjoy walking the rambling narrow streets and alleys and an espresso at the many outdoor cafes.
