Begin the 1.5-hour trip to the coast in an air-conditioned minivan, following the Carretera del Sol, or “Highway of the Sun,” to Isla Negra, the former home of Chilean poet Pablo Neruda. You’ll have 1.5 hours to explore the maritime-themed house, which Neruda built to look like a ship, then stocked with sea shells, ships in bottles, and other memorabilia from the sea.
