Description

Discover Iceland’s breathtaking Silver Circle on a private tour that merges dramatic landscapes with rich history. You’ll walk the tectonic rift at UNESCO-listed Þingvellir National Park, marvel at the power of Deildartunguhver, Europe’s strongest hot spring, and visit Snorri’s hot pool in Reykholt, steeped in saga lore. Experience hidden jewels like the cascading Hraunfossar waterfalls and hear the legends of Barnafoss. Finally, relax in the glacier-view village of Húsafell, soaking in the tranquility of your surroundings. With a private vehicle and expert guide, you’ll enjoy a flexible itinerary tailored to your group, making this an extraordinary exploration of Iceland’s natural wonders.

Most people fly to Iceland and head straight to the Golden Circle. It's good. It's also done by millions of people a year. The Silver Circle is different. West Iceland holds some of Iceland's most extraordinary geology, Viking Age history, and raw landscape — and almost nobody goes there. On this private 8-hour tour, your YFIR guide takes you north into the Borgarfjordur valley and across terrain that the tour buses miss entirely. The day begins at Thingvellir National Park — but at a completely different pace. When it's your private group and one dedicated guide, you can take your time at Almannagjá gorge, stand at Logberg where the Viking parliament met from 930 AD, and see the Silfra fissure without a queue behind you. From Thingvellir the route heads north. Deildartunguhver produces more hot water per second than any other spring in Europe — 180 litres at 97C, every second. A short drive brings you to Reykholt, where 13th-century scholar Snorri Sturluson sat in a natural hot pool still filled with geothermal water today. Then Hraunfossar. Hundreds of springs emerge silently from the edge of a 900-year-old lava field. Adjacent Barnafoss carries a Viking Age legend your guide will tell in full. The day ends in Husafell — a quiet glacier village beneath Langjokull. Your vehicle, your guide, your pace. No strangers, no fixed stops, no compromise.
