Why take this tour?

Private Reykjavik Walking Tour with Food - Walk with a Viking – your crash course in everything Icelandic. Your Friend in Reykjavik is just that – your friend in the city. And, as your new friend, our goal is to ensure you have the best time in Reykjavik.

This walking tour is your introduction to Reykjavik. It will help you get your bearings and make the most of your stay in Iceland. We recommend it as your first stop in Reykjavik (well, maybe check into your accommodation and drop your bags off first).
Our family-friendly tour brings the history of Iceland to life with exciting stories and Icelandic mythology. We’ll visit all of the famous landmarks in the city center, such as Hallgrímskirkja Church (we’ll teach you how to pronounce that). But we’ll also share hidden, local spots with you, like our visit to an Elf house. Things you’d surely miss if you didn’t know what to look for.

We want you to feel our quirky little city's unique, friendly atmosphere, not just to see the most popular tourist attractions. We’ll even have a small lesson on the Icelandic language so you can walk with a Viking and talk like one.

We’ll show you our favorite places to eat, drink and visit (we also have an intimate knowledge of happy hour deals that we’re so glad to share).
The tour lasts approximately 3,5 hours, and it's an easy walk between the places we visit.

We end up with a 1-hour lunch or dinner with your guide.

We can pick you up at your hotel in the city center of Reykjavik and start this private Reykjavik walking tour from there, or you can meet us at our usual spot at Ingólfur Square, where the route is designed especially for the walk. It's your choice.

We sincerely hope you will enjoy your walk with Your Friend in Reykjavik and please don't be afraid to ask any questions during the tour.

Please dress according to the weather, because it can change very quickly in Iceland. We have a saying here that: If you don't like the weather, wait five minutes.

Please be at Ingolfur Square at least 5 minutes before the start time of the tour. It's very hard to guide people to where the guide is located if you are late and the tour has started.

We recommend our Facebook group for tips on food, drinks, and things to do while in Reykjavik & Iceland - You can ask us anything
