Follow along in the footsteps of John Wilkes Booth and his accomplice, David Herold. This full-day tour begins at historic Ford’s Theatre in Washington, DC, the site of US President Abraham Lincoln’s assassination. Discuss the moments and see the points of interest leading up to Lincoln's death.
Visit the Surratt House, where both Booth and Herold secured their ‘shooting irons’ before heading south. Explore St. Catherine, also known as the Dr. Mudd House Museum — Dr. Samuel Mudd’s home. This is where Mudd set Booth’s broken leg, which he injured while fleeing the scene at Ford’s Theatre.
Also, stop at the Pine Thicket Memorial Marker, a hiding spot from Union troops; and St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Cemetery, where Booth met Mudd six months before Lincoln’s assassination. This is also where Dr. Mudd is buried.
All transportation and entry fees, plus a deli sandwich lunch, will be provided.
