Private Half-Day Geldingadalir Volcano Tour from Reykjavík

If there is something that is really hot in Iceland, it is a recently erupted volcano. It hasn’t got an official name yet, but we locals call it Geldingardalir (named after the valley where it originally erupted) or Fagradalsfjall. The volcano has been constantly erupting since 19th March and extensively expanding its’ area. What was two hours hike at the beginning of the eruption now it only takes 40-60min. to the nearest sightseeing point. With a help of our experienced guide, we offer a private active volcano tour to hike up to the closest and safest point where you could enjoy the views of 2192°F (1200°C) hot lava flow. If we are lucky, we might even see some volcano cones shooting lava high up in the air. Your guide will hike with you fo to the eruption site. The total tour time is approx. 6 hours.
