Start your tour with hotel pickup and a visit to Central Park, a green oasis with miles of walking paths, fountains plazas, lakes and ponds, a zoo, and easy access to top museums. Make your choice for a visit to one of five museums near the park: Metropolitan Museum of Art, Guggenheim Museum, Neue Galerie, Cooper Hewitt, or the Museum of Modern Art.
Afterward, head to Grand Terminal – a railway station and Beaux Arts-style architectural gem. Then proceed to Rockefeller Center – a massive office complex with restaurants, shops, and more. Go up to the 70th floor for sweeping views from the observation deck, followed by a spin around glitzy Times Square.
Have lunch, perhaps ordering a slice of New York-style pizza (own expense). In the afternoon, peruse the marquees of the Broadway theaters, reflect on recent history at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, view the Brooklyn Bridge and East River, and take a coffee break at the popular Stumptown cafe (own expense). Your guide can recommend good bakeries for treats as well.
Finish your tour at One World Observatory, the highest observation deck in the United States. If you like, you can extend your tour to visit the Statue of Liberty. Alternatively, extend your tour to include a trip to the Statue of Liberty (additional fees apply).
