Meet a guide at your hotel in Mandalay, and then board a private boat for the cruise to Mingun. In Mingun, visit a series of fascinating religious sites, including Pondaw Paya, Settawya Paya, Pahtodawgyi Paya, the Mingun Bell, and the stark white Hsinbyume Paya pagoda.
Cruise back to Mandalay for an afternoon of more sightseeing, starting with Mahamuni Pagoda, a pilgrimage site that’s important to many of Myanmar’s Buddhists. Continue to Golden Palace Monastery (Shwenandaw Kyaung) and Kuthodaw Pagoda, which claims the world’s largest book, and then see craftsmen pounding gold leaf in a local workshop. For a gorgeous end to a day of exploring, climb Mandalay Hill to see the sunset on the Ayeyarwady River, and views across the city and beyond.
The day ends with drop-off at your hotel.
