Summary

Your tour begins with morning pickup from your hotel in an air-conditioned Sedan. Greet your guide and separate driver, and then sink into a comfortable seat for the scenic drive to Amarante, your first stop. Here, you’ll take a guided tour of the historical center and sample traditional sweet teats before heading onto Sabrosa, an old winemaking village that features as your second stop. Learn about Sabrosa’s connection to the famous Portuguese explorer, Ferdinand Magellan, and then take the scenic road to Pinhão, stopping at the picturesque village of Provesende along the way. In Pinhão, you’ll have the chance to take a boat cruise on the River Douro (own expense) in advance of your arrival in Lamego, where you’ll tour of a winery and sample different wine varietals during a tasting session. Conclude your tour with drop-off at your Porto hotel.
