Next, venture to Qutub Minar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its towering spire stands some 238 feet (73 meters) making it the tallest minaret in all of India. Wander the grounds and meet up with a famed fortuneteller who carries a pet parrot and have the opportunity to have your future predicted (at your own expense). After learning about this impressive mosque from your expert guide, head to the eclectic Dilli Haat. This open-air craft and food bazaar offers a true taste of local life. Enjoy lunch (included) from one of the many permanent food stalls and then comb through the market where your guide can serve as a translator between you and vendors. Dilli Haat is filled with camel-skin footwear, rosewood carvings, rocks and gems, and other handmade items. Pass by some of the city’s top sites on your drive back to the hotel. See India Gate—built to commemorate soldiers who died in WWI—and the presidential house from the comfort of your vehicle.
