After hotel pickup in Beijing in the morning by private air-conditioned vehicle, your tour starts with the 45-mile (72-km) drive to the Juyong Pass of Great Wall.
When you arrive, embark on a 2-hour hike along the Great Wall of China, taking in the views of the landscape from this former Ming dynasty barrier of defense. Then refuel with a typical Chinese lunch at a local restaurant before heading to your second destination, a sacred way located nearby. Your guide provides an introduction to the statues that line the sacred way and their meanings. There are 12 human figures and 24 animal figures, including a xiezhi, an ancient Chinese mythical creature.
Following your time here, your day trip ends with the drive back to Beijing, stopping along the way at a silk museum to learn about this traditional piece of Chinese culture. Return to the city in the early evening for hotel drop-off.
