Grab the chance to beat the crowds and enjoy a guided hike to Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) and the Lysefjord during the serenity of Norway’s off-season.
Join Outdoorlife Norway on an autumn hike to Preikestolen, and witness the magic of the season’s shifting colors and post-equinox daylight. Experience Norway’s crisp and cool mountain air while hiking on trails that were recently upgraded by Nepalese Sherpas, who ‘paved’ the way using local stones.
After an early-morning pick-up, your adventure will begin with a 30-minute transfer to the base of the hiking trail, including driving the world’s longest undersea road tunnel. After a short briefing at the trailhead, you’ll embark on your journey to Preikestolen.
After 2.5 hours* of trekking, you’ll be rewarded with a panoramic view of some of the most dramatic scenery Fjord-Norway has to offer. Your guide will serve you a warm drink and snack while allowing you time to enjoy a well-deserved break at the cliff’s edge.
If conditions permit, your guide will follow an alternate route on the way back down which will take about 2-2.5 hours*. After a few last breaths of crisp mountain air, you’ll return as a group to Stavanger.
