Join a Host to explore Prague’s Jewish Quarter, also known as Josefov after the Holy Roman Emperor Joseph II who finally gave its residents equal rights as citizens of Prague in 1850. This pocket of the city has so much history and culture to discover, and with your Host you’ll be able to go beyond simply seeing its landmarks. Today, the quarter is known as Josefov, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it warrants much more than a quick stroll through. You’ll see the spectacular architecture of the five synagogues which are at the heart of the quarter’s history and spirit, and learn the history of the area’s painful past which will give you greater appreciation for your surroundings.
