However, the wine is not actually produced in Porto, but rather across the river in the charming coastal city of Vila Nova de Gaia. On our tour, we take you beyond the typical tourist spots and show you the real heart of Porto's wine district. You will have the chance to explore the hidden corners of Vila Nova de Gaia, where the locals go to enjoy their wine and food.
Our tour begins with a traditional breakfast of espresso and Pastel de Chaves, a delicious pastry originating from the city of Chaves in the northeast of Portugal. From there, we will take you to the oldest functioning Port wine cellar in the world, where you will learn about the history and process of wine production and get to taste some of the finest Ports in existence.
