Make your own way to the meeting point by the entrance to Pompeii’s archaeological site in time for a 9am, 12.30pm, or 2.30pm (depending on tour option chosen). After meeting your guide, set out on a guided walking tour of the ancient Roman city and marvel over the remarkably preserved ruins.
Learn how the city was buried by the AD79 eruption of the nearby Mt Vesuvius volcano and see ruins that date back to as early as the 7th century BC. Stand in awe before the world’s oldest surviving Roman amphitheater, hear stories of Roman life as you wander the Forum, and listen as your guide points out the Roman Baths, the Termopolium Capuano and the House of the Tragic Poet.
With a tour commentary specially tailored to engage younger participants, the whole family can get involved, and kids will enjoy learning fun trivia and taking part in interactive activities, including visual learning tools such as pop-up books and iPad games. Best of all, skip-the-line access to the archeological site means that children won’t get bored waiting in the long queues.
At the end of the tour, your guide will be happy to recommend nearby restaurants or assist with transport back to your hotel.
Please note: Children must be accompanied by their parents at all times.
