Pizza Making and Wine Tasting in Frascati

Enjoy a scenic 30-minute journey by train from Rome through vineyards and old Roman towns! Upon arrival in Frascati, join your local guide for a tour of the historic center of Frascati and learn the history of this storybook town while tasting local products like slow- roasted pork and Frascati jug wine. Meet local artisans and shop owners who are eager to share their stories. Feel like a local while accompanied by your guide who lives in Frascati and knows everybody in town! 

Soon thereafter, it’s time to learn how to prepare and bake the perfect pizza with an expert local pizzaiolo! In a small group and armed with a pastry board and apron you'll start the day off with an authentic lesson on how to prepare the perfect Italian pizza dough. Next, you'll have the option to use the various toppings and sauces that are are considered staples by Italian standards. Using  only the freshest, locally sourced ingredients, including "Passata di Pomodoro" and mozzarella, craft your own authentic pizza and then learn how to put it into the wood burning oven.
After all that kneading, relax and enjoy a wine tasting of the two main Frascati wines: Frascati Superiore DOCG and Red Vagnolo IGT. Sit down with our hosts and fellow guests to enjoy a rich appetizer comprised of seasonal foods including local cheeses, and of course the pizza that you have so diligently prepared with our Chef!

After dinner you can enjoy a coffee or digestivo while exploring the ancient Roman crypt located below the restaurant. Here you can see the skull of the Roman general Lucullo who was known for his extravagant feasts.
