Get an early start on an amazing day journeying out of Florence, and its manmade masterpieces, because you are off to the Italian seaside. Admire nature’s artistry in Liguria, a spectacular region and home of Cinque Terre – the much acclaimed string of seaside villages along the Italian Riviera. Steep terraces adorned with colourful homes and vineyards, rugged fishermen reeling in their daily catches, and the region’s most famous flavor – pesto. All experiences you can enjoy on this tour.

Sit back and relax as we take around 2 hours ride via comfortable, air-conditioned coach. Your guide will entertain you with tales of the area as you cross two regions: Tuscany and Liguria. Both are rich with history, cultures and traditions that deserve to be told. Upon arrival, you’ll be escorted to a quaint and comfortable local train. Enjoy the journey along the coast line, breathing in the fresh sea air and admiring a view like no other. 

We’ll catch the train and continue our journey down the Ligurian coast and stop at the charming town of Manarola, characterized by its narrow streets and small square looking out over the sea. It is so picturesque it will seem like you’ve stepped into a Renaissance painting. But it is entirely authentic, we assure you. 

Then it is “all aboard!” as you are taken by train to Monterosso, the largest town among the Cinque Terre. Dine on a local dish as you please, selecting that which tempts your taste buds most. Stroll, shop, sit, or even swim (don’t forget to pack your swimsuit just in case you’d like to take a dip in the sea, you have plenty of time for it!), the choice is entirely yours.
If you wish, ask your tour leader to organize a short boat tour with a local supplier, because there is no better way to admire the beautiful UNESCO world heritage site of Cinque Terre National Park than from the sea! See as man has overcome the challenge of nature’s steep and uneven hillsides, creating one-of-a-kind residences with unparalleled views. And notice that each home is older than the next, stretching back for centuries. 

It is time to reach Pisa! Home to the world-renowned Leaning Tower and many other architectural wonders... the building is definitely a must-see on your trip! The constructions began in 1172 before they realized the ground they were building on wasn’t stable. Over 200 years, they tried to fix the lean, but it wasn’t possible in the end. Now, measures are taken to prevent its collapse, but its sharp tilt has become a funny phenomenon to document.

Be sure to savour your final sampling of the Liguria region’s famous flavors, including its highly prized pesto, because soon you’ll be back on board the train for a quick ride to your private air-conditioned coach to Florence.
