Personalized Horseback Rides around Lake

This 3-hour horseback-riding adventure begins bright and early at 8am. Make sure to show up a little bit before your departure time at Ferro’s Blue Mesa Ranch.

Meet with your guide, and get matched up with a mustang horse that fits well with your horseback-riding experience level. If you’re going on this journey as a family, and you’d like your young child to ride with you, accommodations can be arranged.

Set out following your guide along a trail that takes you around the Blue Mesa Reservoir. Along the ride, take in beautiful sights of the lake and the Colorado landscape. You can even see parts of the the Curecanti National Recreation Area.

As your adventure starts to come to an end, your horse takes you to the edge of the lake, and you’ll finish up in the cottonwoods that are watered by a meandering steam. Then, head back to Ferro’s Blue Mesa Ranch to say goodbye to your horse and your guide.

This unique ride offers awesome mountaintop views of the Blue Mesa Reservoir and surrounding wilderness areas. Wind along the edge of the lake and finish up in tall, cool cottonwoods, watered by a meandering stream. Avid photographers will enjoy the fantastic scenery as well as sightings of deer and other wildlife in their native surroundings. All ages and riding abilities are welcome.
