Our most significant and expressive wine from the Home Ranch Vineyards in Santa Ynez is our Patrick’s Vineyard Selection Cabernet Sauvignon, which is named for 3rd-generation owner Dan Gainey’s son. Inspired by the legendary red Bordeaux Blends of France, this structured and very collectible wine perfectly captures the terroir of eastern Santa Ynez Valley. Grown on beautiful south-facing slopes that are composed of rock and clay, Patrick’s consistently delivers a quality of wine that reaches its pinnacle in its varietal category, rivaling the best in the state.
Join us for this special tasting and tour of the Patrick’s Vineyard where we will do a deep dive into what makes this specific block and wine so special. Conversations will be wide-ranging and cover all things viticulture and winemaking, along with a varietal breakdown of each component that goes into Patrick’s final blend. Using Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petite Verdot, and Cabernet Sauvignon we will taste each wine individually and then finish this experience with a tasting of the actual Patrick’s bottling both its current release and as a special older library wine.
Our tasting will occur out in the vineyard at the base of Patrick’s Vineyard, nestled amongst ancient oaks, accompanied by an artisanal Cheese & Charcuterie Board.
