Why take this tour?
Spend time in a lavvu (traditional Sámi dwelling) and talk with reindeer herders—not possible for most visitors to Northern Norway—on this overnight tour from Tromso. Travel to the island of Kvaloya, where your reindeer-herder Sámi guide takes you sledding with their animals and into their lavvu to enjoy a home-cooked meal and conversation before spending the night. It's also the ideal location for spotting the northern lights.

About operator:
We Sami are the indigenous people of Scandinavia and have been living and working with reindeers for centuries. We have countless generations of knowledge and experience of the fascinating and charming creature that has helped us survive life in this cold and extreme nature of the north. The reindeer is the true hero of the Arctic. We would like to invite you to visit our Sami camp and join us for a genuine and family-friendly reindeer sledding safari with an amazing view of the famous Lyngen Alp mountains. Hopefully you will learn to cherish and respect these curious and furry creatures just like we do! Our expert guides will also tell you about the secrets of surviving life in the Arctic and show you traditional artifacts and treasures from our culture.
