Description

All of our sessions are fun and educational! Children will have the opportunity to participate in all of the activities that we offer at River Riders. In addition during their free time, we’ll teach them the basics of guiding and river safety. Goals for your child include: increased confidence, learning, building character, sense of accomplishment, fun, and friendship.

Activities include white water rafting, kayaking, and paddleboarding on the beautiful Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers (class I-III), tubing, zipline canopy tour, ropes courses, and hiking (and more!) in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia.

Sessions will include a unique opportunity to visit four National Park Service entities: Harpers Ferry National Park, Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Park, Potomac National Heritage Trail, and Appalachian National Scenic Trail.

Shuttles are available from Martinsburg, Hagerstown, MD, Winchester, VA, Leesburg, Frederick, Shepherdstown and Charles Town, WV.

There is 10 camper minimum per session for a camp week to run

Bring bagged lunches that don't require cooling/heating
Be ready to learn the basics of guiding & river safety
Be prepared to get wet on rainy days
Drop-off = 8:15 am to 9:00 am
Pick-Up = 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Cancellation

Cancellation Cutoff: 24 days

Cancellation Notes: $15 per person is non-refundable until 4 days before the date of your activity. +We will NOT REFUND cancellations or no shows with less than 3 days notice (14 days if receiving a group discount). +Selecting the Cancellation Protection allows you to cancel your tour and receive a full refund on the value of the tour up to 4 hours before your departure time, no questions asked.

Where are we located?

River Riders is only 1 ½ hours drive time from downtown Baltimore, MD or Washington DC. Located in Harpers Ferry, WV on the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers. We offer rafting, tubing, kayaking, biking, canoeing, an aerial adventure park, and zip line canopy tour, All closer than you think.

What is the weather policy?

All trips go out rain or shine. We reserve the right to relocate or change raft size, number of customers per raft, and length of trips due to abnormal river flow and conditions.

Will there be food? Can we bring food?

River Riders has 3 onsite food options available seasonally. We have a full service bar and restaurant called the Alstadts Ale House, Quick Service Two River Tacos, and the Harpers Ferry Ice Cream Shop. If you have a group, the River Riders Chef can provide full service catering and event facilities. Guests can also bring their own food to take on their trip or eat onsite afterwards. We do not allow outside catering without prior written agreement or approval.

Lodging Info - Where Can we stay?

River Riders has 5 vacation rental homes on site that are booked through Airbnb. We also have a riverfront campground with 8 cabins and a variety of RV and tent sites.
