Otsu-drawings was a folk painting which began in 17th century in Otsu, Shiga prefecture next to Kyoto. Otsu-drawings was sold to travelers on the fifty-three stages of the Tokaido busy traffic road. Otsu-drawings painters at the road side shops completed the hand-drawn pictures as a souvenir on the spot.

At the beginning, it started as Buddhist paintings. With the passing of time, various types of subjects such as animals, dancing girls and goblins along with satires have been depicted.

This is exclusive program. You will paint unique Japanese ONI face on the clay bell.

This bell is a talisman or amulet so you can keep it at your house.
