200 kilometres to the east of Almaty, the southern capital of Kazakhstan, there is an impressive wind, water and sand sculpted Charyn canyon. It is the part of Charyn National Park and one of the most-visited places for tourists. It is not a surprise as fabulous and incredible in its beauty and uniqueness, the Charyn Canyon attracts tourists with its mysterious landscapes every year.
The name of the canyon is given from the river name Charyn originated from Tian-Shan mountains along with the canyon is formatted.
Charyn canyon consists of 5 different canyons: Valley of Castles, the Temirlik Canyon, the Yellow Canyon, the Red Canyon, and the Bestamak Canyon. Downstream of the canyon, a dry zone of the gorge called the Red canyon or "Valley of Castles" is located. It is the most popular part of the Charyn Canyon. Rising to the observation decks of the canyons, the view of the valley that has naturally sculpted red stone formations will impress with its uniqueness and mystery.
