After pickup from central Tromso, meet your guide and small group, pull on your supplied thermal coveralls, and settle into the minibus for the journey out of the city.
Your exact destination depends upon the evening's conditions and the expert assessment of your aurora-hunter guide, who takes you to areas where you are most likely to see the lights. As you journey into the Arctic countryside and away from the light pollution of the city, your guide explains the science and some of the mythologies surrounding the aurora borealis.
Upon arrival at the selected location, your guide serves hot chocolate, coffee, and cake to keep you warm and alert as you await the appearance of the dancing lights. Your guide can also offer tips for handling the tricky conditions of northern lights photography—and can also supply tripods. Keep your camera at the ready and, with luck, the sky soon lights up with colors.
Afterward, hopefully with a camera full of photographs and memories to last a lifetime, journey back to central Tromso for drop-off. Before you leave, your guide shares an online link so you can download other photos taken during your tour.
