Fun Swamp Tour
The best way to see the swamp and bayou. Our tour guide, Captain John T, got us really close to all the wild life in the swamp. We saw alligators, raccoons, spiders, turtles, frogs, and a few different types of birds. Even though it was raining during our tour, I feel that it added to the experience. Captain John T kept us well informed about the swamp and alligators. The bus ride over was smooth and the bus driver was funny and knowledgeable. Over all a great tour.
Interesting afternoon with the gators!
Cajun Encounters is definitely a well established, well run tour company. They have excellent staff, drivers and tour guides. The swamp is such an interesting area to see and our tour guide, Aaron, was very knowledgeable. Bottom line, if you’ve never visited the swamps of Louisiana, you should take this tour. Note: it’s about a 1 hour bus ride to the swamp.
Worth every penny
Our driver was Derek, our Captain was Tony and it was a fun, educational and very entertaining experience. I appreciated how much they love their land and it shows during the tour. Don’t skip it, it’s worth it.
Wouldn’t recommend for families, but lots of gators
As someone with an environmental background, I’ve done a lot of these kinds of trips. Our tour guide, while knowledgeable, was 50% telling us about nature and 50% telling us inappropriate/sexual stories and talking about being drunk/drinking. And that’s just not what I thought I was signing me and my 78 year old dad up for. Maybe other guides are family friendly but I wouldn’t risk it if I had kids and were booking a tour.

This experience was amazing, we saw so many alligator's and racoons, many more than we expected. Captain Rick was incredible, he was so knowledgeable & fun, he made the trip the highlight of our experiences in New Orleans by far. This trip is highly recommended.
