Nagarjun Jamacho Day hiking is easy and short adventure activity near Kathmandu Valley. It is a close hill from Kathmandu Located north-west of Kathmandu in distance approximately 7 km from the main city and a part of Shivapuri National Park. A two and half hours hike to the Jamacho Peak leads through the dense forest called Raniban, starting from the fulbari gate, 20 minute drive from the main city. The forest is rich in diverse flora and fauna.
At the summit( 2096m/6875 ft), a stupa decorate with fluttering prayer flags and penetrating eyes marks the spot where the Buddha sat during an apocryphal visit to the Kathmandu valley, and a small lookout tower commands a panoramic view of the Kathmandu valley and of Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, langtang and many others snow capped peaks to the east.
