The beautiful mountain drive is enough to merit this trip, but then the gondola at Crystal Mountain takes you to the top ridge with a remarkable view of all 5 of Washington's volcanoes. Mount Rainier being a rocks throw away, it's incredible from this viewpoint. Restaurant at the Summit if you wish to buy lunch or beverages.

About operator:
The Mt. Rainier Gondola takes you to the top of Crystal Mountain where you'll find the best view of Mt. Rainier and the Summit House Restaurant. It's an experience unlike any other. On a clear day you can see 5 Northwest volcanoes. Each gondola seats up to 8 people and is a 12 minute ride each way. Open for sightseeing during the winter (Nov-April) and summer (June-Sept.). Schedule varies.
