Mountain Homestays – Farming in Ladakh

The extreme north of India, where the high altitude cold desert of India is situated has its own ways of farming. In such harsh terrain, communities prefer their traditional methods over any modern agricultural techniques. The village infrastructure, local food, and lifestyle has been developed in a certain way to cope up with the harsh climate and terrain. They grow their organic food, store it for a year, and happily share it amongst each other and guests.
