Mostar is undoubtedly the most beautiful city in Bosnia and Herzegovina and is listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. Take in the buzz of the local bazaar, and have a great shopping experience. You will not be disappointed. Visit Medugorje (optional for parties wishing to visit), a site of spiritual interest since 1981 when the virgin Mary is reported to have appeared to local children, and see the Mount of Appearance. Head to Pocitelj, a fascinating fortified town, with its scattered homes and a beautiful mosque. We visit the Blagaj Tekija monastery which was built around 1520, with elements of Ottoman architecture and Mediterranean style architecture - a Bosnian national monument. A wonderful day of East and West.
