Montenegro Excursion from Dubrovnik - Lady of the Rock

Locally known as Crna Gora (literally “black highlands”), this country is known for its forested hills that reach all the way to its pristine sea. From the Illyrian and Roman tribes who originally inhabited Montenegro to its unique role in the Yugoslav war, you will learn two and a half thousand years of heritage and visit some of the most beautiful coastal towns on the Adriatic. After brief stops in Igalo and Herceg Novi we will continue south to Perast, in the Bay of Kotor. You will learn how the geography of this bay has influenced Montenegro's political and economic history and we have optional a boat ride to a small island called Our Lady of the Rocks (“Škrpjela”). Your guide will lead a walking tour through Kotor old town brimming with history and culture. On the return voyage we will take a ferry across Kotor Bay.
