Your tour begins in front of the immense Gothic Duomo. Take some time to study the façade, statues, and gargoyles—there are said to be more than 100—with your guide. Then, pass the lines and head right for the entrance.
Stroll through the interior while your guide tells you about the cathedral’s 50 stained-glass windows, thousands of statues, and many works of art.
Then, head down the marble staircase to an underground crypt where a 16th-century archbishop is buried. If you’re taking this tour on a weekend, take some free time to explore Milan on your own before re-entering the cathedral. Otherwise, head for the lift to the rooftop.
Once you’re up there, take advantage of the views by snapping panoramic photos of the city. Your guide takes you closer to the statues, spires, and gargoyles, and tells you more about the cathedral's history.
Afterward, head back down to ground-level, and finish your tour.
