Meet at Saigon Opera House, and board a climate-controlled coach for the scenic journey through the Vietnamese countryside to the Mekong Delta. Wear clothing that covers your knees and shoulders, as you’ll be visiting rural areas.
Arrive at My Tho, the bustling port, and board your group’s private long-tail boat. As you travel, your guide will fill you in on the area’s culture and history. Stop on an island to taste tropical fruit right off the tree, and another to tour a coconut candy factory, where you’ll get a taste and and see how it’s made.
Learn about delta life through stops at local villages and informative talks from your guide. You’ll take a xe loi, or motorized cart, to a local bee farm, as well as a rowboat to gain access to hard-to-reach areas deeper in the delta.
Midday, stop at a local restaurant for a lunch of local Mekong cuisine. Finally, ride back to Ho Chi Minh City’s Opera House.
