St-Emilion wine tour: Once you’ve boarded the air-conditioned minivan, you’ll get to relax and focus on scenery from Bordeaux to St-Emilion: rolling hills planted with old-growth vineyards that produce some of the world’s best wines. Stop first at a classified growth château. Depending on the day, you may stop at Ferrand, Pressac, Grand Mayne, or Soutard châteaux. You’ll meet the winemakers and have a glass of one of the vintages, accompanied by a platter of fresh bread, local cheese, and sausage. Listen as your guide shares the vineyard’s history and sheds light on the region’s wines. Next you’ll be taken to the charming village of St-Emilion, where you’ll tour the medieval-era UNESCO World Heritage Site with your guide. Stop at another château where you’ll tour the vineyards and enjoy a wine workshop where you’ll learn how to hone your palate for wine. Medoc wine tour: Once you’ve boarded your air-conditioned minivan you’ll travel from Bordeaux to Medoc on the region’s Castle Road, past scenic châteaux such as Mouton-Rothschild, Latour, and Margaux—stopping for photos. You may visit Cantenac-Brown, Paloumey, Siran, or Lagrange, all classified growth châteaux, known for their wines. You’ll follow your guide or winemaker through the vineyard and cellar, and taste vintages made on site, accompanied by French bread, cheese, and cured meat. Move on to the second stop, a family-run estate, where you’ll ample wines and attend a wine-tasting workshop. Learn about how to properly taste wine and expand your knowledge and wine appreciation. No matter where you tour, you can relax on the drive back to Bordeaux and take your wine knowledge with you as you continue to explore the region’s wines on your own.
