Marmaris to Rhodes.
We left our apartment (Sun Appartments) not really knowing what to expect, but what a fantastic day we had, from transfers to and from the Appartments to and from the ferry terminal. Made our way through Border Control on to the ferry, beautiful scenery, the crossing took about an hour. Rhodes Old Town was amazing, good shopping - although more expensive than Turkey as they only take euros, as for the buildings you really need to see them for yourself to be able to have your own opinion - our opinion - amazing. The local vendors weren't at all "pushy" a simple "no thank you" was enough. We had a couple of lagers in one of the restaurants that led onto the main market place and just people watched, all ages, all nationalities mixing together, sharing an experience that you really don't want to miss. Highly recommend this trip to anyone visiting Marmaris, an experience to remember, definitely.
Not enough time, misled by time given.
The trip was listed as 7:30am to 6pm. The Ferry didn’t leave until 8:50 and we had to be back to board by 3:00. Once we got to Greece the customs line was very unorganized and a slow process so we didn’t get into Greece until 10:15. I was expecting 8 hours to explore which turned into less than 5. Not enough time to see anything. I would not have wasted the money knowing the real timeline ahead of time.
Excellent trip
Transfer was straightforward to Port. Lady gave instructioms for day once we got to Port. Passport control very quick. Journey on ferry nice not really bumpy. Arrived at 10.15. Had hours to look at Rhoded. Shops, castle, food lovely. Boarded ferry at 3, left at 4. Back at hotel at 6pm. A lovely day.
