Marmaris Castle & Museum Electronic Entrance Ticket

The castle where the houses were located until 1980s, during the restoration, has been used as a museum since 1991. A collection of artifacts dating from the archaic, classical, Hellenistic, Roman, Eastern Roman and Ottoman periods, starting from the Bronze Age, is exhibited in four closed spaces and courtyards of the castle which has seven covered spaces altogether. Artifacts from Burgaz excavations and the sacred area of Emecik Apollon, from the ancient city of Knidos, located in Datca within the responsibility of the Museum Directorate, and the rare artifacts obtained from the collection of museums in different ways, are exhibited in this historical place and offers history to visitors in the historical castle. In the museum garden, the altars, columns and column heads, Ottoman tombstones, artilleries, and roses are exhibited and also there is an important group of artifacts which are amphoras and containers pulled out of the Mediterranean Sea.
