Mangrove Cruise in Cherating

Your 1.5-hour cruise will start at 9am or 4pm, depending on whether you choose a morning or late afternoon departure. Your cruise location is about three hours from Kuala Lumpur and only 40 minutes from Kuantan's airport.

Hop on your boat with your group, and listen to some safety rules. Then, coast down Cherating River surrounded by mangroves on each side.

As you drift, get excited to pass each bend as you see new wildlife around every corner. Spot out flora, crabs, fish, lizards, snakes, birds, and monkeys all native to Malaysia. Learn about mangrove conservation in the country and why it’s so important.  

Your cruise ends at the same part of the river where you boarded your boat.

Join a 90-minute cruise on the Cherating River for a wildlife-viewing ride through the mangroves. Depart in the morning or late afternoon and drift along the tranquil waterway, which stretches for about 4 miles (7 km). You’ll learn about the unique ecosystem of this river swamp and spot its resident monkeys.
