Depending on transport option selected, meet at the launch location or get picked up at a central New Orleans meeting point for the drive outside the city. After a safety briefing and basic paddling instructions, climb aboard a tandem kayak and launch into the swamp with a guide and small group of no more than eight (single kayaks are available for odd-number groups).
Feel a world away from Bourbon Street as you paddle on the calm waters that wind through the moss-draped cypress forests of the Maurepas and Manchac swamps. During your ride on the water, learn about the wetland ecosystem and keep an eye out for native Louisiana wildlife including owls, turtles, and the famous American alligator.
