Meet your private guide at the port after your cruise ship docks, and then set off to begin your full-day shore excursion of Malta.
Travel first to the fortified city of Mdina, Malta’s ancient first capital. Stroll through Mdina’s narrow, winding streets, taking in the blend of baroque and medieval architecture. Pass by extravagant palaces still used today by the old Maltese nobles, and enjoy the view from the timeworn bastions that protect the city. You’ll also see Mdina Cathedral and the Museum of Natural History.
Next, continue to Valletta, Malta’s modern capital and a protected UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore the pretty city on a walking tour with your private guide, and visit the Upper Barrakka Gardens, which affords stellar views of the Grand Harbour, as well as the 16th-century St John’s Co-Cathedral, which contains two masterpieces by Caravaggio and a wealth of baroque art.
Your tour then concludes with a drop-off at the cruise terminal.
