The Easiest Way to See More of Madrid
We chose the 24-hour pass, which cost €29.70 per person during our visit to Madrid in October 2026. We booked the tickets directly through their website and received a 10% discount, bringing the price down from the regular €33 per person. We really enjoyed using the Hop-on Hop-off bus to explore Madrid. The city is quite large, and there are fairly long distances between many of the main sights, so taking the bus made it much easier to get around while also giving us a great overview of the city. It was also nice being able to hop off whenever something caught our attention and then simply get back on later. One tip: download the app before you set off. It makes it much easier to see where the different stops are and to follow the routes. It proved particularly useful during our visit, as there were demonstrations taking place in Madrid and some stops were temporarily closed. Despite this, everything worked surprisingly well. The staff were very helpful and directed us to the correct stop whenever one was unavailable. We took both Route 1 and Route 2 and were very happy with both. It was lovely to simply sit back, take in the city and listen to the English-language commentary through the headphones. The guide was clear, the audio quality was good, and we learned quite a bit along the way. We also really appreciated the views from the bus. Seeing Madrid from a slightly different perspective was part of the experience, and there were plenty of opportunities to take photos of the sights and the city itself. For us, it was simply a very convenient and enjoyable way to discover Madrid. If you're visiting the city for the first time, we think it's a great option for getting your bearings and seeing a lot without having to walk between all the different attractions.
Hop-On Hop-Off
Gets you where you need or want to go. If you are on top of the bus, watch for tree limbs. Otherwise, a very enjoyable ride.
Terrible
Worst city hop on / hop off I have been on. Nothing to see. No explanation of sites at all. Want my money back.
Painful experience
First bus (9am) was delayed for 45 minutes, created a big chao, very crowded and the staff was unprofessional.
City Tour Madrid Hop-on Hopp-Off - extremely poor performance and service
We have wasted several hours at their pickup points. Always at least 30-60 late. Their services are just terrible. Must not purchase tickets with this company.
