The MACHU PICCHU TRAIN TOUR is a must for those who don’t want to trek or have limited time but still want to explore one of the 7 man-made wonders of the world! This tour is best enjoyed in 2 days with an overnight in Aguas Calientes, the town below Machu Picchu. The 2D/1N Machu Picchu Train tour is best combined with a tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas in the morning of the first day.
Machu Picchu (7874 ft/2400 m) is at a lower altitude than Cusco (11,152 ft/3399 m), though we do still recommend a day in Cusco prior to departing on the tour in order to rest up from your travels, adjust to jet lag and the altitude. Despite being lower than Cusco, it is still considered high altitude. Minimum passengers necessary for tour departure: 2 people (solo or private/custom treks possible at a fee). Maximum per group: 10 people (private groups can exceed maximum).
